Go UPSTREAM is ODIS3A’s youth-centered prevention initiative focused on shaping health before injury, burnout, or chronic disease take root.

Grounded in upstream public health strategies, Go UPSTREAM equips young people with the knowledge, skills, and environmental awareness needed to make healthier decisions across their lives—physically, economically, and socially.

Rather than responding to problems after they emerge, Go UPSTREAM prioritizes early exposure to movement literacy, recovery education, financial awareness, and supportive community practices that influence long-term health trajectories. The initiative recognizes that prevention begins with everyday choices—and that youth deserve the tools to understand how those choices shape their futures.

Functional Movement & Athletic Recovery Career Pathways Program

Summer 2026 Cohort Application Open!

The Functional Movement & Athletic Recovery Career Pathways Program is a non-clinical, educational initiative designed to introduce high school students to movement literacy, healthy recovery habits, and career pathways in fitness and wellness. The program emphasizes safety, consent, professionalism, and career exploration.

Delivered over 12 weeks, the program integrates foundational anatomy concepts, movement assessment principles, recovery techniques, and professional conduct standards to help students understand how movement, injury prevention, and wellness intersect with real-world career opportunities. Participants gain hands-on exposure to fitness and recovery practices while developing communication, responsibility, and workplace readiness skills applicable across health and performance industries.

Grounded in a prevention-first approach, the program recognizes that economic stability, movement literacy, and access to health knowledge are powerful tools for disease prevention—not only for future clients, but for the youth themselves.

Why Financial Literacy Matters for Health

Financial strain is a well-documented contributor to chronic stress, injury risk, and long-term health inequities. As part of upstream prevention, our programs integrate financial literacy and professional readiness to help participants understand how income stability, boundaries, and sustainable work practices influence both personal health and client outcomes.

Life Skills & Healthy Decision-Making Presentation

ODIS3A offers a 45–60 minute interactive presentation designed for schools, youth organizations, and community groups.

This session introduces students to how everyday decisions—around nutrition, movement, economic resilience, social support, and environment—directly influence energy levels, confidence, stress, and future opportunities.

Using relatable examples and culturally responsive framing, the presentation helps students:

  • Understand how daily habits affect their bodies and minds

  • Recognize health as a long-term asset, not just a short-term goal

  • Build awareness of how personal and environmental choices compound over time

The goal is not behavior perfection, but decision-making literacy—empowering students to make informed choices that support healthier, more resilient futures.
